‘Sebastian’s highly enthusiastic and inspiring teaching of all aspects of Art lies in his singular belief in the individual; that this individual can truly exceed expectations in their Art work and in doing so learn so much about themselves.’
Edward Twohig

Director of Art at Brighton College

“The pieces of work that Helena completed with you were singled out for praise by the Head of Art. Thanks so much for the encouragement you gave Helena in her preparation for the scholarship assessment. She felt more confident in her art and more able to express herself when presenting her portfolio.” CLICK HERE

Parent of Helena who was awarded the Sixth Form Art Scholarship at Lancing College

“In Ben’s scholarship assessment, the art teacher said it was the best portfolio she had ever seen for an 11 year old and that his work was already at least GCSE grade A standard! We cannot thank you enough for your inspirational teaching at Artroom Brighton and for nurturing a talent we didn’t even know existed. “

“The school is supposed to have an ‘outstanding’ art department but they certainly don’t produce anything of this standard”
Parent of 8 year old pupil

‘Seb has been an enormous help and a great inspiration to our daughter. He worked closely with her as she prepared for her Art Scholarship to Hurstpierpoint College – for which she was ultimately successful! He managed to make preparation for such a highly pressurised situation actually enjoyable – a not insignificant achievement. We cannot recommend Seb highly enough and our daughter looks forward to more of his help as she develops her artistic ambitions. I think we can say with hand on heart that in all likelihood she would not have gained the scholarship without his invaluable support.’

“You have done a wonderful job with these children. Their work and your teaching were a wonder to behold.”
Ralph Steadman

Artist & Illustrator

‘Sebastian enables you to produce work of the highest standard and without his encouragement, advice and guidance with my portfolio; I can honestly say that I would never have been offered a place at Parsons Paris University.’
J. Endres

Foundation student, Parson's Paris University

‘I got my A*! Thank you so much for all your help and guidance in the Artroom tutorials.’

‘David has been offered an art scholarship and the piece of work that the Head of Art was most impressed with was the wonderful Lucian Freud style painting he did with you at the Artroom.’
Mrs N. Nyman

Parent of scholarship candidate, Parson's Paris University

‘Alex ,age 9, has had the pleasure and benefit of Art classes since Art room opened. He really enjoys the classes and we have seen progress in both his technical skills but also his understanding and appreciation of Art styles (which to be honest did not exist before art class!). Seb and Alison are friendly and expert teachers and I would, and have recommended Art room to any parent or child’
Jo M

Parent of pupil

‘I just wanted to let you know that I got accepted onto the course and how positively the paintings from your Artroom classes affected the overall picture of my portfolio and application. Thank you so much.’

“I just wanted to let you know how my children enjoyed the cartoon workshop that you held during half term. Their masterpieces have been duly mounted and will have pride of place at home!”

“Our son attended a week of workshops with you at Easter and thoroughly enjoyed it. We would like to book him in for a couple of weeks this summer.”

“My daughter absolutely loved the two days she spent with you at the Artroom over half term. Please send details of your summer courses.”
